Cat Coins are the unique currency used by cats in the Shadow Hearts universe.
In trying to raise funds for her film, Five-Story Pagoda, Mao neglected to remember that the cat actors would only accept payment in cat coins, not any human currency.
There are five types of Cat coins, from lowest value to highest; Mackerel, Octopus, Scallop, Shrimp, and Bream - also the range from most common to rarest.
The only way to obtain cat coins is for Mao to kill an enemy with her "Cat Touch" ability. Enemies will always drop a specific coin, with weaker enemies dropping lower value coins, while harder, late-game enemies drop higher value ones.
