Yuri's mid-level Dark fusion.

It can be gained by fighting dark elemental enemies to push the soul counter to level two, and fighting Charon in the Graveyard.

It costs 32 Sanity Points to fuse with Charon.

Description

Mid level spirit formed from a rancorous soul and a pit fiend. Its hard bones and sharp claws leave all who face it shuddering in dread.

Etymology

A depiction of Charon

In Greek mythology, Charon was the ferryman of the underworld who carried souls of the dead across the river Acheron; (not the river Styx) the river that divided the world of the living, from the world of the dead.

A coin (an obolos) was used to pay Charon for safe passage across the river, usually placed in the mouth or on the eyes of the dead body, so when its shade reached the underworld, they could give it to the ferryman. Some of the stories say that those who could not pay the ferryman had to wander the shores of the river for one hundred years.

His appearance varies, but he is mostly commonly depicted as a thin, bearded old man, with later interpretations adding demonic, or Grim Reaper-ish attributes.
