Kiheita Inugami is the late husband of Saki Inugami, and father of Kurando.

He is first mentioned in Shadow Hearts: Covenant, although he goes nameless, and is deceased at some unspecified point before the events of the game.

His name was revealed in an interview by Geek Gamer website, with series creators Matsuzo Machida and Miyako Kato.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant[edit | edit source]

Kiheita and Saki, courting.

He was descended from a long lineage of guardians of Japan; different families with their own unique powers. He was of the Inugami - the Dog Guardians who protect the eight million gods of Japan.

He met, and later married Saki Hyuga, a Harmonixer, and sister of Jinpachiro Hyuga.

When Saki was pregnant with Kurando, he ordered a kimono made, in the event that their child would be a girl.

At some point he ventured into the Dog Shrine, and gave Saki a map, and some tiles to navigate her way through, should she ever need to.

Saki sees a vision of him in a dream, telling her to aid Kurando, open his seal and awaken the Spirit of the Ogre, and become the head of Inugami Clan.

Shadow Hearts III[edit | edit source]

A young Kurando, Saki and Demon Morphed Kiheita, by series artist Miyako Kato.

Although it was never developed, a prequel game to Shadow Hearts was planned, with a young Kiheita to feature as one of the protagonists alongside Jinpachiro, his future brother-in-law.

The events of the plot, and his role in it are unknown, but based on other artworks by Miyako Kato, one of the series artists, he would have had access to his own Jutendouji-like Demon Morph.
