Shadow Hearts Sidequests

Sidequests?

Have you ever played Shadow Hearts, and stumbled across some strange Item, like the Erotic Book, Oath Grail, or Fire Gravestone, and wondered what the HELL it is used for? Ever won the tissues in the lottery and moaned because you needed that crucifix soooo badly? Well all of those items mentioned, and more, have a use - Unlocking Sidequests. Sidequests are optional, but very rewarding, giving you the best weapons, armour, accessories and fusions in the game. Here, I'm not just going to tell you how to get the Sidequests, but also how to do them. Oh, and I probably don't need to mention this, but:

Spoilers Ahead!

No.1 - Kowloon Fortress

After fighting the Yamarja of War (Wugai), you are in Shanghai. You go into the room next to you for a scene. Then get out of the Inn and run down to the bar for another scene (If you've played this far, you should know the places I'm talking about). Go down to the smuggler's boat, and open the hatch to get the Yawang Gate Key. Back to the inn, then enter room next to yours. Fight some battles, and talk to Kawashima. You'll then be in a scene with Alice, chained up in Dehuai's Tower. Choose the first 3 options, and the Kowloon Fortress. You then have to go down to the boat again, and choose to set sail. Note: The whole beginning bit was just so you know where it is in the game. Note 2:This Sidequest must be done BEFORE you beat Kuihai Tower. --Demon Rays (talk) 10:07, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

No.2 - Amon

In your first visit to Nemeton Basement, You have to solve all of the coloured puzzles by combining the colours on the buttons and torches. (example: Mix two colours to make purple, and then grab the chest that was previously surrounded by purple electricity.) Once you have finished and opened every chest, step into the area halfway down with a stone circle, and wait for a ? to appear above Yuri's head, a Destruction stone will fall down, pick it up and then proceed with the boss fight below. Once you have defeated Roger/Amon, You will get a message telling you that you have Received the Soul of Amon. --For Tomorrow 12:14, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

No.3 - Good Ending

For the Good Ending to occur, you must have first have beaten Albert Simon/Amon, but NOT have entered the Neamto Float.

Head to London and go to the London Rat's hideout. Speak to Joshua and he will then give you the Oath Grail. Head to any location where you can build up loads of Malice (except the float of course) and fill your gauge right up, till it's at max malice, to summon the masks.

Make sure that you fight the four masks in the correct order! You should fight the Grail Mask first, then the Gold Mask, then the Staff Mask and finally, the Sword Mask!

You can tell if you are fighting them in the right order because their ring effects are no longer effective. If you have the misfortune to be fighting a mask out of the above order, then FLEE! Run! Escape!

After they have all been killed in the correct sequence, go the Graveyard and look at the small grave next to the Dark Gravestone. It should say "Alice". Now head to the Neamto Float and let the scene play out as normal. When you gain control of Alice in the Graveyard, read all the inscriptions on the graves and then talk to the four masks. Now when you go into the fight against Atman, Yuri will join you, and save Alice from her fate! -- 0001 21:09, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

No.4 - Emigre Manuscript

After you have been to Neameto, return back to the Orphanage in London. Once there, head to the back room on the first floor and talk to the young boy. He'll challenge you to a game of Hide & Seek involving his friends. If you can find all four of his friends hidden throughout the Orphanage and return to the boy within the 60 second time limit, he'll give you access to the Emigre Manuscript. Obtain it by walking up the small stairs behind the boy and examining the large glass object. --Kurando (talk) 22:32, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

No.5 - Codex of Lurie

After you have been into Neameto, if you go back to where you fought Albert Simon/Amon, and examine the ground, you will find the Codex of Lurie. Go to Roger Bacon when you have the book, and you'll have to do a Spin Ring 10 times! Don't worry, you have unlimited chances, and when you manage it, Bacon gives Yuri his best weapon.--Demon Rays (talk) 11:41, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

No.6 - Book of Rituals

After you have been into Neameto, Get Alice and Zhuzhen in your party, and go to the ruins North of Bacon's house. There will be a scene, and you will get The Book of Rituals. Examine it, and you can then do the Ancient Ruins Sidequest.--Demon Rays (talk) 11:41, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

No.7 - Doll House

After you have been into Neameto, make sure to have Alice in the party and return to the tavern in Prague. There should be a man there or was'nt there before. Talk to him, and he should mention something about a haunted house that needs to be excorcised. After this, return to the World Map and the Doll House will appear as a location. --Kurando (talk) 00:49, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

No.8 - Margarete's Confession

Coming soon!

No.9 - Blue Castle/Golden Bat

You must have Keith in your party and have obtained the Earth Gravestone from Nina in Bistritz to do this sidequest. After going to Neameto, travel to blue castle, and go to the basement room with all the coffins. There will be a golden bat hovering at the far end of the room. Go to the Golden Bat, and a conversation will start. Turns out its Joachim, Keith's brother, and he challenges you to a fight. You must use Keith only and the Golden Bat gives you five chances to kill it (Along with one for luck). If you fail in those six turns, he will attack you for 999 damage, and you will have to try again. (If you keep dying, then you need to level up.) If you win, then you will get the Demon-Swd-Tyrving, which is Keith's Ultimate Weapon.--Demon Rays (talk) 16:25, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
