Shadow Hearts

The Graveyard is a Graveyard within Yuri's mind, which can be visited after fighting Fox Face for the first time, via any save point. There are six graves, one for each element (fire, water, earth, wind, dark and light), and when you have acquired enough souls of a certain element, the icon on the headstone of the grave lights up, and you can fight a fusion monster to get it's soul, and then you will be able to fuse into it.

Souls

Souls are gained by defeating a monster of any element (non-elemental foes don't count) to acquire the soul of that element. At the end of the battle, Counters are displayed showing how many souls of each element you have, and how many more you need till you can get the next fusion. Low-level fusions need 20, Mid-level fusions need 50, and become available in the Europe section of the game (unless you are played through again with a completed game) and High-Level fusion need 70, plus the element's gravestone, which are hidden across the Europe section of the game.

Malice

Malice is related to the graveyard because when you kill monsters, you accumulate Malice, and if you let it build up, Fox Face comes to exact revenge for the souls of the beasts, until you beat him, when the masks come instead. To clear your malice, you must go to the four masks outside of the gates to hell (Where you fight Atman to determine a good or Bad ending), and fight a weak enemy. If you defeat the masks, you are still able to do this.

Music

The background music played during visits to the Graveyard is called "Graveyard Moon". However, after defeating Fox-Face, the music briefly becomes "Tanjou".

Shadow Hearts: Covenant

In the second game, the Graveyard becomes more organized. Upon entering, the player encounters a sinister tree with Yuri embedded in it - a result of the Mistletoe's curse. To its left is the Commandments from Heaven, where the altars to unlock Fire, Wind, and Light fusions are located. To the right is the Commandments from Hell, where the altars to unlock Water, Earth, and Dark fusions are located. Behind the tree is the Labyrinth, which the player must enter during certain points of the game.

Mirror Palace

In Goreme Valley, Yuri and Karin must endure a trial to resurrect Amon in Yuri's spiritual realm. During that time, the fusion altars are inaccessible. The player must enter the Labyrinth and go through the door leading to the Palace of the God of Wrath. The map is fairly simple, allowing the player to move through the mirrors to find the needed Glass Key. Upon doing so, the player can then fight Amon.

Unlocking Final Fusions

To unlock the first level fusions, Yuri must channel souls into one of the altars for each of the elements. The second level can be unlocked likewise, but only if the first is unlocked. The final level elemental fusions can only be unlocked after unlocking Amon. To gain these fusions, Yuri must find Soul Drops - six in the game world. To unlock these fusions, Yuri must place a Soul Drop on one of the altars, then win a battle with a shadowy monster.

Mocos (Earth) - unlocks Gaudion

Born from the dead and withered earth, this evil spirit resides in the Mental Realm and sneers at the purity of the Harmonixer's spirit.

Pripelaga (Water) - unlocks Veneficium

Born from water fouled with human flesh, this evil spirit resides in the Mental Realm and disturbs the ice-like calmness of the Harmonixer's spirit.

Svarozic (Fire) - unlocks Fides

Born from the black smoke that pollutes the atmosphere, this evil spirit resides in the Mental Realm and crushes the Harmonixer's battle spirit.

Erisvorch (Wind) - unlocks Libertis

Born from the foul wind that carries sickness, this evil spirit resides in the Mental Realm and binds the Harmonixer's free spirit.

Svarog (Light) - unlocks Miserati

Born from the harmful light that harms life, this evil spirit resides in the Mental Realm and tramples the love within the Harmonixer's spirit.

Veles (Dark) - unlocks Somnion

Born from the unclean darkness that breeds ill will, this evil spirit resides in the Mental Realm and steals the Harmonixer's reason

 Dark Seraphim

Dark Seraphim can only be accessible if the following are achieved...

  • All eighteen elemental fusions are unlocked
  • Amon and Neo Amon are unlocked
  • The final dungeon is at least visited
  • Kurando's fusion Jutendouji is unlocked

Upon returning to the Graveyard, the Reborn Droplet should be found beside the tree. With that, Yuri can access the Door to Desires and fight Dark Seraphim.

Music

The background music played is called "Holly Mistletoe ~ Graveyard". Before fighting the Dark Seaphim however, it briefly changes to "The Past ~ Personal History", a remix of "Tanjou" from the previous game.
